Where each number comes from

Three sources, kept apart on purpose. What a protocol is right now is read from its own contracts. How that has moved comes from a log this site writes every ten minutes. Anything compared across chains comes from DefiLlama, because one method applied to everyone is the only thing that makes a comparison mean anything.

Why not use the protocol’s own API

Creda runs an indexer and a GraphQL API, and both are good. Neither is used here. A measurement that the measured party can switch off, rate limit or change under you is not a measurement, and the point of this page is that its numbers hold whether or not anyone cooperates. Everything is read from the contracts, which nobody can quietly edit.

The two mistakes that are easy to make here

Creda stores amounts virtually, with an index that grows as interest accrues, so a stored total is not an amount: the real one is the virtual total multiplied by that market’s index. And every asset carries its own decimals, 6, 8 and 18 all occur, and the oracle is the only place that says which. Treating them alike turned one market into 566,988,385,037,302,720 on the first attempt.

Both mistakes are caught the same way. Every per-market sum is compared with the contract’s own total, and the gap is carried as drift. Above half a percent the market table is marked unreliable instead of drawn, and readings that disagreed are left out of the chart. They stay in the public log either way.

Why the history is short

Creda is not listed on DefiLlama, so no history of it exists anywhere. The recording here began on 2026-09-16 and grows forward at one reading every ten minutes. The line is short because the recording is young, not because the protocol is, and this page will not draw a curve that reaches further back than its own data.
